Created from balsa wood, Robot One Imprecise was the first robot shaped project. Good thing he is friend to all because he could be easily defeated by flame.
Inside every object are other smaller objects waiting to come out. Objects that are cut in half become two objects. When reconfigured back into a single object they become something new. The boundaries are infinite and limited only by creativity. There is no escaping it.
About the Artist
When I was a child I decided to build a boat. Although I had no boat building knowledge, I felt an unexplainable drive to create one. It only needed to float and be big enough to hold me, but the largest pieces of wood I had were about foot long, from a woodpile behind the garage. Undaunted by these circumstances, I started construction. Friends and family supported the idea and watched me piece it together over several weeks. They chuckled as they made comments about its seaworthiness. A few tubes of caulk and a bucket of tar later, I was ready. Now completed, she still looked a lot like the woodpile behind the garage only now she was roughly boat-shaped.
A crowd gathered on launch day. We unloaded her from the truck and set her in the water. As I got in and started paddling with my custom made Bo Diddley-guitar-shaped-paddle, she started taking on water. She was a boat until she was no longer a boat, and even though she ended up at the bottom of the San Diego River, she was a work of art. Just ask anyone who was there.
